SEA Index, a certification from the Monaco Yacht Club, honors the Benetti Dagger hybrid motor yacht during the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show

The Sea Index is a certification for recreational boating launched by the YCM in 2020.

The goal is to assess and thereby reduce the environmental footprint of recreational vessels. Currently, the Superyacht Eco Association has brought together about thirty ports, mainly in the Mediterranean but also in other seas such as the Caribbean and the Seychelles.
Sea Index is one of the flagship initiatives of the “Monaco: Advanced Capital of Yachting” project. At the 35th Monaco Yacht Show in 2026, a stunning hybrid yacht built by the Italian shipyard Benetti received Sea Index certification. The 67-meter B.Now M/Y Dagger joins another Benetti, the M7Y Kasper 7, on the global list of 130 yachts certified by Lloyd’s of London. A yacht so exemplary in terms of environmental impact was bound to attract the attention of H.S.H. Albert II of Monaco, who toured it during the yacht show, accompanied on board by Azimut Benetti Group President Giovanna Vitelli and Yacht Club Monaco Secretary General Bernard D’Alessandri.

The M/Y Dagger Benetti is equipped with a conventional propulsion system combined with state-of-the-art electric technologies and batteries. This modular configuration allows the yacht’s operation to be adapted to various sailing scenarios. When weather conditions permit, the Dagger operates on electric power, with zero impact on the marine environment. The hybrid technology helps reduce noise and vibrations on board, enhancing passenger comfort, as part of an ongoing effort to strike a balance between energy efficiency, performance, and quality of life on board.
