The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (FPA2) and the Gere Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), paving the way for opportunities for collaboration between the two organizations to protect the environment and the health of the planet. The agreement was signed by Romain Ciarlet, vice president and CEO of FPA2, and Ana Buitrago, president and CEO of the Gere Foundation. Richard Gere was in attendance, having been invited to the Principality for the gala evening held on September 18, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Prince Albert II Foundation. “Both foundations share the belief that compassion and responsibility must translate into concrete actions,” said Richard Gere. “I am very pleased to see our organizations opening this new chapter together and exploring how our experience, our networks, and our shared concerns can help protect the planet and build a more sustainable future.”
The evening, held in the Salle Garnier at the Monte Carlo Opera House, was a success. In the presence of the princely couple, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation celebrated the prestigious milestone of twenty years of global activity focused on climate change, biodiversity, and water resources, with particular attention to the Mediterranean basin, the polar regions, and the least developed countries. The Foundation has supported over 830 projects worldwide, contributing to the development of solutions that strengthen the resilience of ecosystems and communities. The 20th-anniversary gala aimed to highlight the Foundation’s work and honor the Sovereign’s longstanding commitment to environmental protection. Joining Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco were Monica Bellucci, Richard Gere, Isabelle Huppert, Eva Herzigova, Catrinel Marlon, Aurélien Muller, Christina Aguilera, Plácido Domingo, and Sister Sledge. Approximately 250 people attended the event, including Massimiliano Mordenti and his wife Erminia Fezia Mordenti, CEO and Project Manager, respectively, of Offroad Club Monaco.
