The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation has announced the 2027 edition of the “Environmental Photography Award” competition. Launched in 2021, it is one of the pillars of the Foundation’s “Green Shift” initiative, which aims to highlight inspiring environmental stories and recognize photographers who promote conservation and raise awareness about environmental protection. Ocean, Forests, Polar Regions, Agents of Change, and Humanity vs. Nature are the five categories in the competition. Participation is free and open to both professional and amateur photographers. Online registration is open until November 1, 2026, on the website fpa2photoaward.
At the end of April 2027, the official selection of thirty-six photographs and the award winners will be announced. In the meantime, the Environmental Photography Award is also touring Italy. After stops at the Botanical Garden in Rome and Castel Gandolfo, the exhibition—which brings together all the winners of the competition since its first edition—has been on display in Menaggio, on Lake Como, since September 4. In addition, an exhibition dedicated to the ocean has opened in Capri, featuring a selection of photographs from previous editions of the Environmental Photography Award.
